Look it Cook it

We taste food with our eyes. If something looks good we want to eat it. Look at these two pictures: which one looks more appetising? 

The first one is a photo of some red peppers.  They are vegetables - bright and colourful.  They make you think of crunchy sweetness.

Now look at the next one.....

 

These are cupcakes, which most people would expect to be more appealing. But because of the pale icing they don't look so good. Pale food is not always appetising.
